Description

“Colonial governors ruled, legislators debated, patriots gathered and George Washington danced. At Tryon Palace, where British rule once flourished, American independence took root and the state of North Carolina was born.” Upon arrival in New Bern we’ll begin our immersion experience at the new high-tech North Carolina History Center with an introductory film and exploration of the exhibit hall, followed by lunch at Lawson’s Landing, a casual café on-site. North Carolina’s royal colonial history comes alive through costumed interpreters as we tour Tryon Palace. There will be free time at the end of the tour to explore the gardens and additional historical buildings associated with the site.

TOUR INCLUDES:

  • Transportation via deluxe motor coach
  • Tryon Palace admission
  • Behind the scenes, private tour of the Costume Shop
  • Docent-led tours
  • Casual cafe luncheon
  • Snacks
  • All fees, taxes & gratuities

Don’t just see North Carolina. Experience it.
