One day in Charlotte left us wanting more of the Queen City.

Charlotte’s got a lot! The Queen City’s tag line amply describes this vibrant metropolitan area that encompasses 16 counties. With native Genie Hufham of Charlotte Crown Guides as our companion for the September 26 day trip, we learned how North Carolina’s largest city transitioned from an agricultural-based economy to a manufacturing economy to the nation’s second largest banking center over the past 150 years since the Civil War. At the Levine Museum of the New South, the group took in the museum’s centerpiece exhibit, Cotton Fields to Skyscrapers.  Our luncheon at the Duke Mansion was spectacular, and the Mansion’s gardens, with their whimsical sculptures and groomed pathways, were enjoyed by all. As we just scratched the surface of what there is to see and do in Charlotte, an overnight trip to Charlotte is in future visit NC concierge’s travel plans. I’m always grateful for feedback from guests, such as this comment about this trip: “As always, the tour was planned down to the last detail. The timing on all events was just right.
